All items sent to students residing on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ campus must be completely and correctly addressed with...
- The recipient’s complete name as listed in the Housing Portal.
- The recipient’s complete and correct address as listed in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Mail & Package Center site.
Mail to residents should be addressed as follows:

Building Abbreviation - Room Number

Packages addressed to recipients who are not in the housing portal are subject to the shipment being returned to the sender.
Please note that if you use zip code 60208 you may experience delays as University Mail is processed through Auxiliary Services. This zip code is only to be used for non-residential Âé¶¹´«Ã½ addresses. For more information, please refer to the .
Package Acceptance for Fall Term
On Campus Mail Deliveries 
Mail Services receives, sorts, and delivers U.S. Postal Mail and packages to on-campus university housing Monday through Friday during university business hours. Mailbox locations can be identified on the Mail & Package page or at the by clicking on ‘Mail Combination’.
Items to be returned to sender include
- Items arriving by private carrier (UPS, FEDEX, DHL, Amazon, etc.) addressed to individuals without a housing assignment
- Shipments arriving with incomplete recipient information (missing first or preferred name and/or last name)
- The preferred name can be updated in the
- Shipments not collected within the 30-day holding time
- Prohibited items not responded to within 14 days of notification
Note: If you need an item held longer, please email the MPC for an extension
Misdelivered Items
If your items are delivered to the incorrect MPC location, they will be relocated approximately once a week during the academic year.
Possible Reasons for Misdelivery:
- Carrier Error: The driver delivered to the wrong MPC.
- Incorrect Address: The shipment was addressed to the wrong location. Please ensure the shipping information matches your housing assignment.
Mail Forwarding
First-Class Mail and USPS Packages Only:
- Forwarded for up to 1 year to the current address on file in CAESAR (or Permanent if Current is a university housing mailing address).
- Recommendation: Complete a mail-forwarding request with the USPS.
Note: USPS will not forward mail to non-United States addresses.
Opening Your Mailbox
Opening your mailbox can be tricky. Follow these steps:
- Watch the Student Affairs produced tutorial video staring current or former MPC Assistants:
- Check the : Find your mailbox location and combination.
- Turn the Dial Correctly: Start by turning the dial to the left.

Returns/Unclaimed Packages
If a student fails to retrieve their item(s) during the quarter, it will become eligible for return/forwarding at the end of the semester. Packages will be held for 30 days at the end of the semester before being returned or forwarded.

Prohibited Items
The MPC is responsible for ensuring that Prohibited Items are flagged for review.
If the MPC Flags a shipment as prohibited item, here's what you can expect:
- Notification: You will immediately receive an email informing you that a prohibited item has been received. This email will include a link to a MachForm for your response.
- Item Handling: The item will be labeled as "Prohibited" and placed in a designated holding area by the MPC Staff.
- Options you will select from in the emailed MachForm:
- Return to the Sender: If you choose to return the item to the sender, no further action is needed from you.
- Return to Store: If you prefer to return the item to the store, you'll need to provide proof of the return before the item is released.
- Request a Meeting: If you want to discuss the item, you can request a meeting with the Resident Director (RD). The RD will schedule the meeting.
- Unclaimed Packages: If you don't respond within 14 days, the item will be returned to the sender.
- Return Requests:
- To Carrier: The item will be marked as "Returned to Sender" and logged accordingly.
- To Store: Proof of return is required, and the return will be logged in the system.

Amazon One-Time Passwords/ Signature Required Shipments
For certain shipments, Amazon may require a . Email the MPC with the tracking number and password information for processing.
For Signature Required Shipments, no special action is required, the major carriers, USPS, UPS, FedEx, know our operating hours and will collect a signature from one of our team members. The package will then be processed using our normal processes.

Authorizing Others to Pick Up Shipments
Borrowing Flatbeds for Large Items
Flatbeds are available for transporting packages from the MPC. They must be returned within 2 hours, and before the MPC closes for the day. The replacement cost for a flatbed is $200.
