LaVance earned his Bachelor degree in Sociology and his masters degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. LaVance is currently working on his PHD in Higher Education Administration with a focus on Equity concerns. LaVance has worked in residence life in several institutions including East Carolina University, UNC Asheville, and Illinois State University. Prior to Â鶹´«Ã½, LaVance was the Assistant Director of Equitable Student Success at Columbia College Chicago. LaVance has experience as a non-clinical case manager and values helping students and staff overcome concerns regarding mental health.
LaVance is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion work, team development, and professional development. LaVance loves to laugh and uplift others. Outside of his career, LaVance enjoys spending time with loved ones, writing poetry, photography, attending comedy clubs, traveling, and learning something new.
