Immigration Check-In
To complete your Immigration Check-in at Â鶹´«Ã½, follow the steps below carefully.
Step 1: Log in to the OISS portal.
- Go to the .
- Enter your NetID and password to log in.
Step 2: Submit the Immigration Check-in Request
- Click on the “Documents and Requests” tab in your student profile.
- Locate and click on the “Immigration Check-in” icon on the right side.
- Complete the request and upload the required documents in PDF or JPEG format.
- If your document cannot be opened, you will be required to resubmit it in the correct format.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
You must upload the following documents:
I-94 Arrival Record
- Visit to obtain your I-94 record.
Certificate of Completion for the F-1/J-1 Orientation Course
- This will be emailed to you upon successful completion of the online orientation course.
- Exceptions: If you are a Kellogg master's or exchange student, GLO exchange student, or NU-Q exchange student, upload documentation from your respective department instead.

F-1 or J-1 Visa Page from Your Passport
- This page includes your name, passport number, date of birth, visa issuance/expiration dates, etc.
- Note for Canadian Citizens: Instead of a visa page, upload a copy of your I-20 or DS-2019.

Step 4: Update Your U.S. Address in CAESAR
- Log in to using your NetID and password.
- Click on the “Profile” box.
- Select “Addresses” in the left-hand menu and enter your current U.S. address.
- Follow the guide for step-by-step images and instructions.
Important Address Guidelines:
- Your current (U.S.) address must be a U.S. address where you are living while attending Â鶹´«Ã½.
- Format matters! Incorrectly formatted addresses may be considered invalid.
Example Format:
- Address 1: Building number followed by street name (Do NOT include apartment/dorm name here).
- Address 2 (Optional): Apartment, dorm, or floor number.
- Country: United States.
If you are living in a temporary location, enter that address and update it when you move.
- Your Permanent Address must be a non-U.S. address (typically your home country).
- Note: OISS cannot activate your immigration record until your U.S. address is updated in CAESAR. You must always update your address within 10 days of moving.
Step 5: Update Your Emergency Contact in CAESAR
- Log in to .
- Follow the .
- Keep this information updated throughout your studies at Â鶹´«Ã½.
Step 6: Update Your U.S. Phone Number in the OISS Portal
- Log in to the with your NetID and password.
- Click on the “Documents and Requests” tab.
- Select “Contact Information Update” request.
For F-1 Students:
- Update your U.S. phone number and/or foreign phone number (including country code).
For J-1 Students:
- You must update your U.S. phone number.
- If you do not have one, you may use the U.S. phone number of a friend, relative, or academic department.
- Exchange students: Your program’s phone number may already be listed under the “Personal & Programs” tab.
